The Molly Lenora Yacko Memorial Scholarship was established to honor Molly’s life by supporting students pursuing careers in mental health. This scholarship helps remove financial barriers to education for individuals dedicated to compassion, care, advocacy, and suicide prevention.
Education is a powerful tool for change — and this scholarship is an investment in hope, healing, and the future of mental health support.
By supporting students who are committed to mental health careers, the scholarship helps strengthen access to care, reduce stigma, and build a more compassionate mental health system for future generations.
The scholarship supports students pursuing degrees or training in mental health-related fields, helping cover educational expenses and professional development.
Created in memory of Molly Lenora Yacko, the scholarship honors her life by turning remembrance into meaningful action that supports others.
By investing in education today, the scholarship helps build a stronger, more accessible mental health system for future generations.
Because of supporters like you, the Molly Lenora Yacko Memorial Scholarship is not just financial assistance — it is encouragement, opportunity, and hope for future mental health professionals.
Together, we honor Molly’s legacy and continue building a Tomorrow where everyone is here to see it. 💛
Scholarship funds raised through Run Today For Tomorrow are invested directly into students who will shape the future of mental health care. By supporting education, the scholarship helps expand access to services, strengthen prevention efforts, and honor a legacy through care and compassion.
Chesney Auter was the first-ever recipient of the Molly Lenora Yacko Memorial Scholarship, and her journey shows the real impact this support can make.
With help from the scholarship, Chesney was able to attend Ball State University as a full-time student, focusing on her undergraduate major in Psychological Science while completing a minor in Sports and Exercise Psychology. She plans to continue her education at Ball State by pursuing a master’s degree in the mental health field.
During the academic year, Chesney maintained a 4.0 GPA, earned a place on the Dean’s List, and took on leadership roles within her campus community, including serving as Grades Appeal Chair for the Chi Omega Phi Epsilon Chapter.
Beyond academics, Chesney embraced campus life — working as a barista at Starbucks on campus, building meaningful connections, and reaching personal milestones like signing her first apartment lease.
Most importantly, the scholarship strengthened Chesney’s commitment to mental health advocacy. She shared that Molly Lenora Yacko’s story continues to inspire her work and passion for helping others.
“No one should ever have to fight alone.”
Chesney continues to strive for excellence — academically, personally, and professionally — carrying forward Molly’s legacy and the belief that tomorrow needs you here to see it.
This scholarship represents belief — belief in students, in healing, and in a future where mental health care is accessible, supported, and prioritized. Through education, we honor Molly’s legacy and help ensure others receive the care they deserve.
